New Bedford’s ‘Sister Rose’ dies

CUMBERLAND, R.I. — Sister Mary Rosellen Gallogly, R.S.M., a Sister of Mercy for almost 70 years, died on April 6, 2018 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, R.I.

Better known as “Sister Rose,” she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose (Mimnaugh) Gallogly, born and raised in Providence, R.I.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Rene A. Canuel passed away unexpectedly at the age of 78, in Roseville, Calif. on January 11. 

Born to Robert M. and Beatrice O. (Belanger) Canuel on July 3,1939 in Fall River, he was raised and educated in Fall River and Swansea, graduating from Case High School in 1957, whereupon he entered the U. S. Air Force and served in Colorado, the Azores, Laos, Hawaii, Louisiana and California until his retirement.
